Only cars with a motorway sticker placed on their windscreen are allowed to use the motorways/superhighways and the roads reserved for motorcars in the Czech Republic. The roads in question are marked by the signs shown on the sticker. The stickers can be bought at the border crossings, at the branch offices of the Czech Automobile Owners' Association (UAMK), at post offices, and at some gas stations. There are selected pieces of motorway, in particular around Prague, can be used without a sticker. They are marked by signs saying "Bez poplatku". The ends of such toll-free stretches are marked by signs where the text "Bez poplatku" is crossed out by a red line. The fine for using the motorways etc. without sticker is CZK 5000.
